Booking Terms and Cancellation Policy
By booking accommodation with Steppio Inc., you agree to the following terms and strict cancellation policies. These terms are exclusively governed by Canadian law. Your reservation indicates explicit acceptance of these conditions, regardless of your country of origin or residence.
Short-Term Bookings (less than 28 days)
Strict Cancellation Policy:
- Guests may cancel within 48 hours of booking to receive a full refund, provided the cancellation occurs at least 30 days before the check-in date.
- After the initial 48-hour grace period, cancellations made at least 30 days prior to check-in are eligible for a 50% refund of the nightly rate and cleaning fee. Refunds do not include payment processor fees or applicable service charges.
- Cancellations made fewer than 30 days before check-in, or reservations made within 30 days of arrival, are not eligible for any refund.
- No refunds will be provided for unused nights if the guest cancels after check-in or decides to check out early.
Short-Term Booking Alterations:
- Alterations to short-term bookings requested at least 30 days before the arrival date may be accommodated based on availability. If accommodated, guests will receive a 50% refund of the difference, minus applicable service and processor fees.
- Any alteration requests made fewer than 30 days before the check-in date will generally not be accepted. The original booking terms will remain in effect, and no refunds will be issued.
- If Steppio Inc. is unable to accommodate the requested alteration, the original booking terms prevail, and the standard cancellation policy applies.
Long-Term Bookings (28 days or more)
Strict Cancellation Policy:
- Guests may cancel within 48 hours of booking to receive a full refund, provided cancellation occurs at least 30 days before the check-in date.
- After the initial 48-hour grace period, cancellations require at least 30 days’ notice prior to check-in for a refund, except for the first month’s payment. Refunds exclude payment processor fees and applicable service charges.
- Cancellations within 30 days of check-in, or bookings made within 30 days of arrival, are not eligible for refunds.
- Guests cancelling after check-in or during their stay must provide 30 days’ notice. Guests will be charged for all nights stayed, plus an additional 30 nights from the date the trip alteration or cancellation is confirmed.
Long-Term Booking Alterations:
- Any changes to your booking, including adjustments to arrival or departure dates, must be requested at least 30 days prior to the original check-in date.
- All modifications are subject to availability and must be approved in writing by the Steppio hosting team.
- Approved modifications may incur additional fees and updated rates, communicated clearly to the guest prior to confirming the alteration.
- Alteration requests made fewer than 30 days before check-in generally will not be accommodated and will be subject to the applicable cancellation policy.
Tenant and Contents Insurance (Long-Term Bookings)
Guests booking accommodations for longer than 28 days are strongly encouraged to obtain suitable tenant and contents insurance. We recommend securing insurance coverage to protect personal belongings and guard against accidental damage or liabilities during your stay with Steppio Inc. or subsequent homes in Canada.
Additional Guests
Guests may not add additional individuals to their reservation without prior written approval from the Steppio hosting team. Authorized additional guests may incur extra charges according to the hosting agreement. Unauthorized guests or deliberate misconduct will result in immediate reservation termination without refund.
Governing Jurisdiction & Policy Enforcement
The strict cancellation policy outlined here is consistently enforced and will not vary based on guests’ jurisdiction or local regulations. All reservations made through Steppio Inc. services are subject to Canadian federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations.
Additional Terms
- Reservations are non-transferable without prior written approval.
- Guests are advised to obtain appropriate travel insurance to cover unexpected events.
Liability and Additional Disclaimers
- Steppio Inc. will not provide temporary accommodation or compensation in case of catastrophic events such as fire, natural disasters, flooding, or other unforeseen events that render booked accommodations unavailable.
- Guests agree that Steppio Inc. will not be liable for any accidents, injuries, or losses occurring on the premises, nor for any legal or financial impacts due to changes in local laws or municipal bylaws.
- Steppio Inc. reserves the right to charge guests for any damages to the property caused by willful misconduct, negligence, or other actions by the guest or their invitees. Charges may also apply for damages to the company’s reputation, including but not limited to public negative reviews found to be malicious or deceptive.
- Guests are fully responsible for their behavior and actions during their stay, and Steppio Inc. expressly disclaims any liability for personal injuries, theft, damage, or loss of personal belongings during the stay.
