Applying for a Canadian Visitor Visa (Temporary Resident Visa)
Purpose: If you’re planning a short trip to Canada for tourism, visiting family or friends, or even for business purposes, you will need a Visitor Visa (Temporary Resident Visa). This type of visa allows you to stay in Canada for up to 6 months.

Prerequisites:
- Proof of Ties to Your Home Country:
- Canadian immigration officials need to be sure that you will return to your home country after your visit. Documents such as a job letter, property ownership, or family commitments can help prove this.
- Financial Stability:
- You must show that you have enough money to support yourself during your stay in Canada, including accommodation, transportation, and other expenses. Bank statements or financial sponsorship letters can help.
- Intention to Leave Canada:
- You must demonstrate that you have no intentions of overstaying your visa. This can include a clear travel itinerary or evidence of future commitments in your home country.
- No Criminal Record:
- A police certificate may be required to prove that you have no criminal history.
Required Forms:
- Application Form for Visitor Visa (IMM 5257): Form IMM 5257
- Family Information Form (IMM 5645): Form IMM 5645
Tips for a Strong Application:
- Complete your forms accurately: Any errors or omissions could delay or result in a refusal of your visa.
- Provide clear evidence of your travel plans: Booking a round-trip flight and providing accommodation details can help strengthen your application.
- Show financial proof: Include bank statements or proof of employment to demonstrate you have sufficient funds for your stay.
How to Submit:
Once you’ve completed the necessary forms, submit them online via the IRCC website or at a visa application center (VAC) in your country.
